Phantom Projects
Steve Cisneros, Producing Artistic Director

Phantom Projects Phantom Projects Educational Theatre Group is one of the only groups in the Nation that produces theatre specifically for a teen audience. Mixing adult and teen performers, we bring professional quality shows to the 1,251-seat La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Our seasons have mixed shows that deal with teen issues, such as drugs, racism, and violence, and also brings to the stage plays that most middle schools and high schools study in class such as The Diary of Anne Frank, The Miracle Worker, Our Town, and The Crucible. In addition to our La Mirada Theatre season, Phantom Projects mounts shows specifically designed to tour to schools and youth groups with shows about abstinence, prejudice, and drug prevention. These touring shows feature all-teen casts.

The Importance of Being Earnest

The Importance of

Being Earnest

Oct 21, 2010

7:00 pm

A hilarious social satire, The Importance of Being Earnest is Oscar Wilde’s most enduring play and has been called the funniest in the English language! This masterpiece about manners and morals is outrageously frivolous with intricate twists and turns, through which the characters move while they carry on sparkling conversations about life -- and love. Although Wilde's plot is wonderfully witty, his wit is serious, as he cleverly uses it to skewer the Victorian English upper class and utterly charm everyone else.

The Giver

The Giver

Feb 24, 2011

7:00 pm

Jonas’ community is perfect. There is no war or fear or pain. There are also no choices. When Jonas turns 12, he is chosen for special training from The Giver, the only person who holds the memories of real pain and real joy. Now Jonas will learn the truth about life and the hypocrisy of his Utopian world. Through this astonishing and moving adaptation, discover what it means to grow up, to grow wise, and to take control of your own destiny.

Through These Eyes

Through These Eyes

May 5, 2011

7:00 pm

There are no reliable statistics accounting for the number of teens with eating disorders. Some teens are ashamed and others aren’t even aware of their problem. Through These Eyes follows the lives of a group of teens struggling to live up to the standards set by society, the media, their friends, and the vision they see of themselves everyday in the mirror.
The play is a must-see for teens, and their parents
