PRESENTS THE EXUBERANT ÒSWING!Ó

LA MIRADA, Calif., March 3, 2006 Ð La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts will jump and jive to the feel-good musical ÒSwing!Ó which commands the stage March 31 through April 16 with a first-rate ensemble backed by an eight-piece orchestra performing the signature songs from the golden era of the 1940Õs.
Nominated for six Tony awards and originally conceived by Paul Kelly, ÒSwing!Ó features such electrifying music as ÒBoogie Woogie Bugle Boy,Ó ÒJumpin' At The Woodside,Ó ÒStompin' At The Savoy,Ó ÒIt Don't Mean A Thing If You Ain't Got That Swing,Ó and ÒSing, Sing, Sing.Ó The show also includes dozens of dance numbers representing many different styles of Swing dancing.
The multi-talented ensemble includes: Southern California musical theatre stars Tami Tappan Damiano, David Engel, Maceo Oliver and Kristin Beth Williams. Other Southern California favorites are dancers Carrie Helms, Cory Jones, Tosha Pierce, Paul J. Romero, Jen Silvas and Dana Solimando. Hailing from New York are: Beverly Durand from the original Broadway cast and Tony awards presentation, Mark Stuart Eckstein; Matthew Bedell and Jennifer Jones. Jimmie Cervera of Las Vegas; Courtney Combs from Illinois; and direct from the hit TV show, ÒSo You Think You Can Dance,Ó Artem Chigvintsev, who hails from Izhevsk, Russia round out the cast.
ÒSwing!Ó is directed and choreographed by Dana Solimando, Darryl Archibald is the musical director and conductor, sound design by Julie Ferrin, set design by Gary Wissmann, lighting design by Steve Young, and the show is executive produced by Tom McCoy of McCoy Rigby Entertainment.

ÒSwing!Ó runs for 19 performances: Tues. Ð Thurs., 7:30 p.m.; Fri., 8 p.m.; Sat., 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Sun., 2:30 and 7 p.m. (no matinee performance on Sat., April 1 or evening performance on Sun., April 2). Tickets are $40 and $32.
