LA MIRADA THEATRE CAPTURES 11 OVATION NOMINATIONS, SECOND HIGHEST OF ANY THEATRE

 

LA MIRADA, CA, September 30, 2005 -- The La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts received 11 Ovation nominations for "Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan" and "My Fair Lady" at this week's announcement event held at the REDCAT theatre in downtown Los Angeles. La Mirada received the second highest number of nominations of any theatre.

 

"Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan," which began its current national tour at La Mirada last September, received nominations for best musical, choreography, musical direction, set design, lighting design, sound design, costume design, and Cathy Rigby received a nomination for lead actress in a musical.

 

"My Fair Lady," which played at La Mirada this spring, received an Ovation nomination for costume design and two nominations for featured actor (Joseph R. Sicari and Damon Kirsche).

 

The LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards, celebrating excellence in Southern California theatre, will be held at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, 7:30 p.m., Nov. 14.
